Visitor Orientation
Welcome to our visitor orientation page. Vigor has a strong commitment to a safety work culture. We believe that all injuries are preventable with the right approach to each job. The conduct of all employees, subcontractors, and visitors while in a Vigor facility is largely what defines this safety culture and environmental stewardship. During your work and/or visit to Vigor’s facility your commitment to our values and business ethic is critical. Please have all personnel scheduled to visit Vigor’s facility view the Vigor Health, Safety, and Environmental Orientation video below prior to their visit. All scheduled personnel must then complete the verification form below.
If the video does not appear above, you can watch it here.
Please complete and submit the verification form:
Safety Toe Footwear requirement: Vigor has adopted the industry and shipyard standard of requiring safety toe footwear. This policy serves to elevate the level of foot protection at our facilities. Please review carefully.
All subcontractors and subcontract labor performing work/job task at all yards, deck plate, and/or machine shops and warehouse operations must wear footwear in accordance with the following requirements:
- A durable boot or shoe that has a protective reinforcement in the toe which protects the foot from falling objects or compression, usually combined with a mid-sole plate to protect against punctures from below.
- The safety toe footwear may be: Steel Toe, Aluminum Toe or Composite Toe as long as it meets ASTM (American National Standard for Personal Protection-Protective Footwear) International standards, F 2412, Test Methods for Foot Protection, and F 2413, Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective Footwear. These 2 new standards have replaced the former ANSI Z41 standard (Standard for Personal Protection Protective Footwear), which has now been withdrawn.
- ASTM now requires footwear manufacturers to place a label on the inside of safety toe footwear — that will include ASTM F2412 and/or F2413 and any standard feature designation that the footwear meets. Please check the inside of your footwear to verify it meets the ASTM standards listed above.
- If you are unsure that your footwear meets ASTM standard, Vigor asks that you refer to the store where boots are purchased for validation.
