Illinois McCook Reservoir and Distribution Tunnel System Main Gates

Vigor contracted directly with the US Army Corps of Engineers for the supply of six large roller gates, the complete hydraulic operating system and guides and appurtenances. Each gate weighs approximately 220 tons to withstand the 300 foot of head under which they operate.

Our team provided:

• Two main gates and appurtenances
• Four sets of upstream/downstream guard gates and appurtenances
• Two sets of main gate slot embedments
• Four sets upstream/downstream
• 72 wheel assemblies
• 6 sets of hydraulic cylinders and actuators
