USCG Tongue Point Pier Rehabilitation

  • Customer: National Pipe & Piling

  • Industry: Non-Marine
  • Type: Industrial Services
  • Year: 2009

To assist in the rehabilitation of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Tongue Point pier at Astoria, Oregon, our Specialty Finishes experts blasted, prepared, and primed nearly a mile (4,665 ft.) of 24” diameter pipe piles in 72 ft. to 76 ft. lengths.

For customer National Pipe & Piling of Tacoma, Specialty Finishes met SSPC-SP10 specs to blast the exterior surfaces of the pipe pilings. We applied two coats of Bar-Rust 235 @ 8 mils DFT each, for a total system thickness of 16 mils.
