Oregon Iron Works
Oregon Iron Works (OIW) is a leader in heavy, high complexity fabrication, machining and systems integration. Founded in 1944, OIW is internationally known as a pioneer and innovator in modern manufacturing techniques, consistently awarded projects in such highly demanding areas as nuclear, hydroelectric, defense, and structural fabrication.
Investments in state-of-the-art technology have led to one of the largest and most sophisticated CNC machining operations on the West Coast. OIW designers, engineers, and fabricators regularly work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, magnesium, plastics and composites.
Technology combined with a highly skilled workforce have enabled OIW to fabricate a diverse project portfolio. OIW teams have built over 300 sophisticated high performance marine vessels, including workboats, combatant crafts and unmanned surface vessels. For more than two decades, it has been the primary integrated fabrication supplier for the Ground Based Missile Defense program. It has supplied new equipment for the historic Bonneville Dam and critical components to support the resurgence of the nuclear industry, to name a few achievements in its 70-year history.
In 2014, OIW and Vigor Industrial merged to unite their strengths in advanced manufacturing, systems integration, shipbuilding and ship repair. The combination creates the critical mass of innovation, infrastructure and financial strength to allow the united company to meet upcoming demand from various industrial and marine sectors at home and abroad.
